Breather

It's 2359 now on a Saturday. It's Sunday tomorrow and school will resume the day after. I'll be away tomorrow for two tuition classes followed by piano, and I have not completed my homework. Opps.

At least after checking the homework checklist, I technically only need to complete bio which is due on day 1. As for those due on day 5, I guess you can say...
We can do them later when school reopens.

Seriously though, this is pretty much how I deal with a lot of things nowadays. I used to be real particular about completing my homework ahead of time. Now I'd be more of the kind who finds going to school at 7.15am to complete (not start) an essay due on that very day rather feasible. Some of my undone work may be due the next day, and it would be 12.30am when I realise that, then I'd probably be like "Oh. Yeah, I can wake up at 5am to do that. So let's sleep now."

You may or may not wrinkle your nose in disgust at the above paragraph because I guess it somehow shows a lack of time management, urgency and care about my studies. However, you'd be shocked that actually, it has become an usual and common sight in year 3. With extra subjects now, work just piles up at alarming rates. Most people have timetables that end much later than ever. Especially on days which end at 4.15pm (yeah rmb the times when I complained about 3.45) and hcl is your last lesson.... You stayed up till at least 12mn the night before, you are somewhat sleepy, it's warm, not to mention the lesson... I guess you can say it's not that great. 3 out of 5 days I will only reach home after 8pm, so that's when I'll do my work and possibly study for tests, eat dinner and shower. I try to make it a point to sleep sometime near 12 midnight because I wouldn't want my parents to worry either, but a poll in class showed that there are people who do stay up way later than that. I'll go to school and see that everyone is chionging work that's due that day anyway, before flagraising, during reccess and even during class. In fact, I find it quite amusing when you're complaining how you have so many things to finish by *date*/ "sigh I haven't complete my maths." and people around will be like "I also haven't do sia" and you two will be like OMG U 2 and do a bff handshake and go all "aiya do now lor yolo" hahaha. Tests also seem to be popping out every corner and you seem to be studying for them non-stop.

I realised the importance of knowing your content well. It is extremely important that if you want to strive academically in conditions like this, you will really have to pay attention, study smart and simply put, know your shit. Get organized and file regularly or else you will be in a frenzy near tests and your mum will be as well because messy room. Try not to sleep during lessons. If you feel drowsy, get yourself excused to the toilet and wet your eyes and face. It's rather amusing how I'll meet many of my classmates in the toilet as well during breaks doing the same thing as I did: wash my face. xD So far, I have not plonked down onto the table and blanked out, nor do I intend to do so, normally after washing my face or a meal I'll feel refreshed and can last till the end of the day (yes even 415!) Lastly, DO YO HOMEWORK. It's a must not that it accounts for grades but because it's a good gauge as to whether you know your shit. You may only start doing it on the day it's due but do complete and submit it. (Just my 2 cents.) And even though my academic life seems rather horrible, I feel that campus life has it's vibrant sides as well. I find joy in chatting with my new classmates when we're eating/ walking to and fro venues. When the 3F kids gather outside our geog classroom talking about the most random things ever for that 5mins. Mr Ong doing anything and everything trying to make us not fall asleep during chem. Going for choir. Half-crapping and half-listening during bsp lectures with Faith. Mugging with my fraaaans. Laughing at my classmates who had lit after hcl and LA during the CT period when I could go home. The list doesn't stop. I am just so immensely glad to get to know everyone much more this semester, and to know that everyone's supporting each other during the hectic days :)

Yeap. It may be quite harsh but I think I'm getting used to it. I'm satisfied with my grades though they're not that great, but just wanna let you know, whoever you are blogwalker, that a drop in grades during any transition phases like this is perfectly normal. Be serious in studies but do have your share of fun as well!!

Ok, now back to finishing my bio worksheet ha ha ha.

I might have been updating consecutively these three days but I thought that since I have time now, I'll let in a little about my year 3 life to make up for 6 months of no blogging. Will try to come back.
