Shining, shimmering, splendid

Hello world. I realised that a lot of my post are about things which are belated.. like, there is a super long lag time between the event and when I blog about them lol. In fact, I have like three queued blog posts with one about STEP (which ended in January) and I don't think I can ever publish it because I am just too lazy to even complete the draft. Anyway my language skills aren't that great so you wouldn't wanna read huge paragraphs of words by me. Really.

So thankful for Friday nights like today because I can choose not to worry about homework yet and I can enjoy the peace of my home. The week had been rather horrible and basically, I tried to live through everyday by telling myself that "It's okay, I'll get to see my bed really soon" when I'm using the minimal energy I have to climb the stairs. Days just past like this and I don't even know what I'm doing at times. The past few weeks was basically studying for the endless mini tests(a retarded attempt at "less stressful as compared common tests") while juggling many things on the other hand. And it was really sad to see some of my friends crumble just the day before physics and LA test, but come to think of it, it's over already and we finally had that load off our shoulders...... till we start worrying about the rest next week.

Okay enough of rambling shall do a picture post (somewhat) about my June holidays then! :)

BSP Camp
Which was quite fun and got to know many friends from other schools haha. My group was super thick-skinned and I met some..... interesting people as well. Disgraced myself terribly during 文娱晚会 with the clubbing like atmosphere hahaha we tried dancing but people ended up forming trains or huge circles and I have no idea why? Plus the atmosphere was pretty much quite ruined when the lights had to be on and the music had to be stopped because someone dropped her spectacles and it got lost in the masses. o_o Overall the food was good and hostel life is seriously interesting I hope DHS will have lodging systems like other schools where all students will get to stay in the hostel dorms for one term during their whole school life! Juniors, do not hesitate to sign up for this camp if you get the chance to :D

Trip to Pulau Redang
Which was pretty last minute may I add. My mother suddenly had an urge to go overseas so we went to buy tickets on Thursday for a trip which sets off on Saturday. Which means only one day to buy all the stuff we need on this trip eg. the beach stuff.

Took a overnight bus across Malaysia and reached the Jetty at 7.30am in the morning. I was so lost because 1. Sleepy 2. Don't understand anything around me seriously except for orang laut I cannot read anything else. Apparently, I left my shoebag on the bus so my brother, mother and myself all lost our slippers. (+ misery points) Oh, and my Mum's and bro's shoes were new. (++ misery points.) For a moment I really thought we got cheated because there seem to be no ticketing booth and we were told to exchange a receipt for the tickets. Anyway we found the counter and managed to board the ferry. I thought it would be short but it lasted almost an hour. The ferry was rather squeezy, like it doesn't make you claustrophobic but a bus ride would be slightly better. Propped up a pillow and leaned my head forward on the seat in front of me to sleep lol SURPRISINGLY, it was even more comfortable than the night on the bus. When we saw sign of really large headrocks everyone got excited and I woke up to see this really beautiful shade of aquamarie blue water from the windows!!

But we had to transfer out onto this huge platform which would travel about 20m to get to the shore. And from that platform, I could see the waters and it was indeed clear and beautiful. In fact I can spot a jellyfish and someone was like "EH LOOK. SOTONG SIA" and I died.

When we finally reached the shore the staff from our resort greeted us and they had a car to transport our luggage over the sand but not us LOL so we had to walk along the coast. In track shoes. Anyway, it was indeed a really simple resort with just beds, aircon and toilet. No tv, no wifi, but you don't need those distractions during a vacation. Dumped our stuff and ran to the beach straightaway HAHAHA.

Captures the beautiful sea colour :)

Brother and his beloved ping pong ball sharing a moment

Super cute squirrel spotted in the resort!

Dead corals washed up to the shore (horribly painful to step on as well)

Artsy shot of my cousin with a pretty piece of coral.

Three elements: Air, Earth, Water.

Snorkeling (Omg I love the colour of the water)

Taken alternatively with phone or dslr. The cam failed to capture the colours of the sky or sea (mainly because I didn't dare to screw up the settings) but it took really good pictures of people. The place was indeed beautiful. Basically, there is this really long stretch of beach with only resorts called Pasir Panjang and all of them have a diving and snorkeling center. Spent my two days there snorkeling and eating and sleeping basically. We would take a speedboat to the middle to snorkel and the scenes underwater were simply so magnificent I only regret not getting a waterproof case in time for the trip. My cousin didn't know how to swim and she was scared to enter the water after she accidentally inhaled sea water in her snorkeling attempts and my mum had to take care of her, so my bro and I didn't get to wander out far as much as we wanted too. But the corals are really pretty and colorful fishes are everywhere! Unlike the above photos, corals are full of colours when they are still alive. :D

So during one of the three snorkeling trips my cousin was guided by one of the resort staff in the water and that guy was seriously badass lol. He would dive all the way down and pick up sea cucumber which looks so gross omg. He would take the gross looking thing and suddenly place it in front of those who are swimming and looking down perpendicularly at the corals so you would enjoying your life and suddenly you see this huge red deformed thing in front of you and obviously you'll get such a huge scare and you'd almost die right there and then. #truestory and it wasn't enough that badass bad person laughed at me, after I swam away apparently he picked up the same red sea cucumber and he said "watch ah" to my cousins and co. and he THREW IT TO WHERE I WAS wtf imagine my feels when I see this familiar red deformed thing slowly sinking into the sea bed in front of me and was all like ??? Got up and saw my cousin laughing at me in the distance u__u Afterwards I saw him scaring people again with now a black sea cucumber and I heard him mutter "aiyo it's just 海参 so scared for what" HAHAHA.

At night there are movie screenings and I watched Mission Impossible 5 plus my cousin and I went to the nearby resort to kope wifi lol. It was damn fail because we couldn't find the reception counter and when we finally did I thought we may need to get a room number (you know, just in case) so we walked to a nearby block of rooms and was like "ok C10 it is" then we went to the counter and pretended to be asking for wifi password. The person asked if we were staying in this resort so I was like "yeah, in room C10" and she was like "OHHH wifi not accessible from c-block so you guys will have to stay here" and then she gladly gave us the password... Spammed by whatsapp messages and my cousin had a lot of mosquito bites while we sat at the benches on the sand to use the wifi. Felt really fortunate then as well because it was so perfect there and people on my twitter were complaining about high PSIs and bad haze.

Anyway the moment was great while it lasted but I don't think I'll ever go there again unless I was offered plane tickets. Sitting through long ferry and bus rides (like 10 hours) to get there aren't really that comfortable! D:

Choir handover dinner
Which needed a lot of changes in our plans because haze. Turns out I came back and experienced even higher PSIs T__T During one of the days we had a meeting for this dinner and it was so amusing because we gathered at the mrt with surgical masks as we made our way to our presz's home and then we decided to check the tv for the PSI levels and then dear Edwin started screaming because it was like 401 WHICH WAS THE HIGHEST EVER. Sheldon freaked out, Stacy and Xiuying started holding one another and jumping going like "we're gonna die we're gonna die" and yx was probably being badass and cool about it. We ended up having lunch at Edwin's place.

The dinner turned out to be not bad but sending Sheldon and I to fetch the choir was horrible because yx lives in some place that was ulu like dk what and we actually got lost trying to find the busstop we arrived at. We ended up finding a busstop which we prayed would go to Bedok and indeed there was one. Thought we were gonna be late but we did not. Led the choristers to somewhere near her estate and apparently we overshot and forgot to take the final crucial turn. So we backtracked and overshot AGAIN so long story short we were lost. In the end yx had to come and find us to guide us back sigh hahaha we are so pathetic. Food was good and had a great night with so much laughter at "mbs" with dhschoir. ;) Probably the coolest handover dinner ever.

Yup that's all. Should shower and sleep soon. SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO WHO IS PROBABLY MY ONLY READER! (Hello zifei HAHAHA)
